I would need at least a microsecond resolution timestamp for kernel
profiling.
Alpha SMP has a resolution of 1ms for the jiffies AND do_gettimeofday
(arch/alpha/kernel/time.c, do_gettimeofday) because it cannot use the
rpcc call to do time calculation like in the UP case.

Is there a way to get a fine grain timestamp for profiling purposes on
alpha SMP (Alpha UP has a resolution of 1us for do_gettimeofday which
would be enough)?
