I don't know any why of stopping the return to SRM, but you could capture
the output on a serial port. That would at least allow you to see where it
oopsing. Just connect a serial cable (with null modem) to serial port 1,
setup a terminal emulator on another machine (9600-8-N-1) and add
console=ttyS0 to the boot flags.
