PPP works, too!

Just got PPP up and running. Except for the typical minor changes of
replacing "unsigned long" with __u32 and changing a char to a long to
make set_bit() work it worked right out of the box.

As a "proof" here some ifconfig output:

---
bash# ifconfig
lo Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1 Bcast:127.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0
UP BROADCAST LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:2000 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
          TX packets:62 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0

ppp0 Link encap:Point-Point Protocol inet addr:169.197.3.5 P-t-P:169.197.1.20 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING MTU:296 Metric:1 RX packets:749 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 TX packets:1321 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0

---

(BTW: Don't bother trying to rlogin to 169.197.3.5---I don't have inetd running yet...)

A kernel patch is forthcoming (though it will be a small one :). Also, patches for gpm-root (a simple console-based menu manager) are upcoming---gpm and gpm-root now work flawlessly as far as we can tell.

With mouse-support and Internet access Linux/Alpha *really* starts to be fun to work with.
