ftp://ftp.azstarnet.com/pub/linux/axp/misc/axpbin-emacs-19.29.tar.gz
The file is 8128274 bytes long, so you may need some patience to
download it. It is a snapshot of my system and it has one or two
stale lock files in usr/local/com/emacs/lock, but they shouldn't hurt
and you can simply delete them. Also, you certainly want to change
usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-start.el to suit your
needs/environment. Notice that the snapshot uses the new directory
organization used by 19.29 (scattering things over
/usr/local/{bin,share,com,libexec} etc---it sort of makes sense, but
may take a while to get used to).
The only problem I have noticed so far is that whenever 19.29 garbage
collects, my system swaps heavily. I haven't seen this with the 19.28
built under OSF/1 and I suspect its either because 19.29 really uses
that much more memory or because I had to use the system malloc (the
malloc package that comes with Emacs didn't work). I hope its the
latter and I should probably look into fixing Emacs so it can use its
malloc package under Linux/Alpha.
Other than that, it works really well: RMAIL, GNUS, ange-ftp, sending
mail, and, of course, actual editing all seem to do fine.
Also, thanks to Zak's, there is now an HTML version of the FAQ. Its
at:

I updated it a little. In particular, the prices for the 233 MHz
boards are in there now.
Oh, and for what it's worth: sendmail-8.6.9, mail.local, and popclient
all work out of the box. As for mail-readers, I didn't have much luck
with mailx-5.3b on Sunsite, so I downloaded the BSD source instead and
it works much better. It's not perfect yet, but it works reasonably
well. As a result of this, I'd prefer if you could send future mail
to davidm@azstarnet.com (if it's urgent, you still may wanna use
davidm@cs.arizona.edu, though).
Have fun,
