The Linux kernel as distributed by Linus builds under OSF/1 only. Get
my PCI patches and that should be fixed, too. By they way, we're now
at 1.3.18---1.3.10 is ancient. My patches can be found at:

PS: If you don't want debugging symbols, be sure to exclude the "-g" option
in the top-level make file. For a 1MB kernel, debugging symbols add
about 4MB... :)
