Your mail is quite disheartening. Yes, lots of people are working
hard on getting Linux/Alpha there, but tuning things will just take
some time. Doing system benchmarks on Linux/Alpha at this time and
making conclusions about the hw based on those measurements is, quite
simply, frivolous.
