In this threads various serious benchmark have been named, and
substantial comparisons were done. Yet, as we are talking about
Linux, would it not be (more) interesting to compare BogoMips?
Especially considering that Alpha CPUs have high BogoMips!
Ok, since I maintain the BogoMips mini-Howto, I am a little
prejudiced :-). Nevertheless, I'd like to know about your
BogoMips ratings. For quite some time David M-T has been
topping the list with 164.59 BogoMips on his Alpha 21066/166,
recently being superceded with 196.9 by Danny ter Haar on his
overclocked Alpha 21066/200. What about others? And could someone
knowledgeable in the field give me a nice short overview of the
available Alpha CPUs? Please, swamp my mailbox with your data.
And I could do with some BogoMips ratings for the MIPS CPU as well.
