Since MILO seems to be "getting there", is it time to try
and boot linux on a Multia? I can probably borrow one
from the University, and they'd love to run Unix on them
instead of NT with an X Server.

I know the TGA is a problem, but could I boot the kernel
using a terminal for output - text only, of course? I'm
no C wizard, by far, but I'd be willing to give it a little
work, at least...

...or could I get a PCI graphics card for the Multia, and
use that? Hmmm...seems like the PCI code isn't quite ready
yet.
