It does *not* contain any PS fonts. If you need them, you can get
them from your favorite ftp site. E.g., the Aladdin ftp site has a
file "ghostscript-fonts-std-3.33.tar.gz" which, as far as I know, is
pretty much identical to the fonts available at
prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu.
ghostview obviously requires X11, but ghostscript is also useful if
you have a non-PS-capable printer (it's configured to support pretty
much all devices that ghostscript knows about; I was able to test the
X11 and deskjet devices only, however).
I had to hack the sources a little to get them through gcc-2.7.0 and
to avoid unaligned accesses, but it seems to work well now (at least,
I haven't seen any problems on the files I tried).
