Multia *again* - sigh!

Hi there!

I have occasionally put forward the subject of linux on Multia, and
been told that this isn't currently possible, because:

a) The ARC console is not supported

b) TGA is not supported

Now, the case is, the Multia, or at least the ones we have here, do
have SRM-consoles. In fact, I've got one here, now, with a >>>-prompt
instead of the usual blue screen. Apparently, it uses the SRM to
launch ARC, and there is a command under SRM called ARC that does just
that. And even from the ARC console, I have the option to run
(apparently) arbitrary programs and boot other OS'es.

Does this significantly change anything? I'm willing to do some work
to make this work, but I'll probably need some help and guidance...

Can the TGA problem be circumvented by attaching a console to a serial
port, or do some remote networking trick?

PS: I'm writing this through port 25, sorry about FUBAR headers etc

PPS: another solution to the TGA-problem might be to use a PCI VGA-card?
