Jensen/BLADE: compiling new Kernel?

Hello,

I got BLADE 0.2 installed on my Jensen board now. However, I have problems
compiling and using a new kernel (1.3.28, gcc 2.6.0 from blade):

- ld does not like neither '-static' nor '-Bstatic' in the makefiles. If I
remove those, I can create a kernel which will even boot fine (however, the
default rootdev of 0803 which I set both in kernel/config.c and in the
Makefile are ignored).

- I can log in using the new kernel, and most programs work - however, 'ls'
shows some of the filenames wrong (only gibberish) or complains that some
files do not exist when doing a 'ls *'. Am I doing something stupid here, like
not using the correct version of the libraries or something? If so, what parts
of the system do I need to upgrade?

I desperately want to get networking running, so I don't have to copy over
those 80MBs of stuff from my other machine via floppys (the scsi tape driver
would not compile).

cu
Michael
