Hi friends and neighbors,
I have run into some difficulty after upgrading from blade.02 to the new
bins on grocne. Since my upgrade, my old kernel 1.2.8 does not
understand the new getdirents() syscall as expected. What is not expected
is that attempting to boot 1.3.27, results in a hang right after the
"VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem)" statement.
After dispersing printk's like pixie dust, I believe that the open
function is the culprit.
here is what I get from the console at boot:
Partition check:
sda: sda1 sda2
sdb:magic: 00000000
unknown partition table
EXT2-fs warning: mounting unchecked fs, running e2fsck is recommended
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem)
after setup() in init() main.c line 510
before open tty1 main.c line 527
we have just popped into open include/asm-alpha/unistd.h line 203
and then the hang...
any suggestions?
TIA,
-Ophir
