It is relative to my 0.35.1davidm library sources in the same
directory.
The only thing this patch changes it to replace memcpy, memset,
memmove, bcopy, and bzero with assembly routines. They are slightly
faster on large transfers and probably quite a bit faster on small
transfers (didn't measure the latter). The reason there is little
speed difference for large transfers is that with the Alpha's
non-blocking load/store instructions it almost doesn't matter how bad
your code is and it will still be able to saturate the memory system.
Oh, the routines are based on code from CMU and they bear the CMU
copyright. The copyright is very loose though, so I don't think there
should be any problem.
