It seems that Linux-Alpha does'nt require fdisk partitions,
but requires disklabel partition. So, it is novalid fdisk
partition.
Please look at grocne.enc.org:/pub/alpha/disklabel.tgz !!
It contains disklabel program (default is compiled by Alpha,
but it can compile by x86 machine and can make disklabel
partition.)

Yes, SRM console can only pass ONE parameter, and limits
until 16 chars.
In that disklabel programs contains with boot loader which
has many functions( ext2fs also can recognize). But I don't
try it yet.
I suspect it requires 3 SCSI disk at least.
( Bootdisk, Rootdisk and Installed Disk!)
I'll try to edit vmlinux by direct to install easy.
Good luck.
