It fixes most problems for the Alpha. The one area where things are
still broken is with certain size computations (the basic SIZE and RSS
numbers should be correct though). It would be relatively easy to
fix, but requires some kernel-changes (and I just didn't want to
change everything at once). Actually, I think the kernel interface is
equally broken for ELF binaries.
Most of the changes are minor. However, I reimplemented psupdate to
use BFD. This should make it work equally well with a.out, ELF, and
ECOFF binaries (I tried it with ECOFF only). Notice that you'll need
my latest libbfd to make psupdate work perfectly. I plan to make it
available RSN. From what I can tell, psupdate seems to work fine on
the Alpha now (at least, "ps -axl" shows reasonable kernel function
names in the WCHAN field).
Michael, as I'm not sure who's currently maintaining procps, I cc'd to
