I seem to have a wierd bug ( arn't they all! ) with 1.3.36 on my Jensen.
Firstly to build the kernel I had to hach the arch/alpha and arch/alpha/boot
Makefiles to remove the references to "-static" in the link commands.

After building a bootimage and "cpboot"ing it to /dev/sda I get the following.

Now booting the kernel

?06 DBL MCHK

at this point I'b back at the SRM prompt.

I read Michael Schwingen's post of 13 Oct 1995 "1.3.32 won't boot?"
and asked how he overcame hos problem because it sounded similar.

He went back to 1.3.28. Any help on this one?

Also I went and got 1.3.28, built and booted ( same "-static" hacks )
This one boots and seems to run OK except that "ls" seems scrogged.
Ls gives lots of "?", and I had one wierd crash when I telnet'd in
from my 486.
