I have read that Linux has seen the light of day on an Alphastation 200.
In fact I managed to boot linux on my own 200. There were problems with
the keyboard (had to power-cycle to clear it) and with the NCR driver
(didn't believe I had ANY SCSI disks). I wasn't able to actually install
the BLADE-0.3 distribution.
I wonder if anyone out there in linux-alpha land has successfully done
anything "Linuxish" with the Alphastations and if so, would they like
to give me some pointers and a working boot image so I can install.
If not, could someone save my some time by giving me a few pointers
on cross-compiling (bear with the greenish tinted guy) so that I may
beat my head against the NCR driver and see if I can get it to like
the smell of my SCSI disks.
I have read through the archives and read all the documentation linked
to the Linux/Alpha Home Page in the last 2 weeks. Any new scraps of
info that could be casually tossed my way would be greatly appreciated.
Seasons Greetings All.
