Hello,
I've just built an noname Alpha with no problems, installing Linux though
is a bit of a headache, I have followed the instructions in
gatekeeper.dec.com:/pub/DEC/Linux-Alpha/BLADE_0.3/install_guide.txt up to
step 7 "Select Boot Linux/Alpha, which eventually returns the Milo prompt"
however in my case it never return to the the milo prompt...
the output is something like Linux Loader v1.1, Blah, Blah, Memory size is
0x1000000 bytes, Setting up arguments for milo at 0x801FFC00, Swapping to
PAL code and then the screen clears quickly and the machine hangs.

All devices are reported propertly in Display Hardware option of the setup
menu. The jumper for the SCSI bus is set for termination, most things are at
factory defaults, the only one I've moved is 20nsec cache to 15nsec.

I ordered a noname 233 with 1Mb cache,AT keyboard connector ARC console
and got:
noname 233 with 15nsec 256k cache, PS/2 keyboard, ARC console.

Firmware revision is 4.36.
There is 1 case from DEC, 1 Mach 64 ISA graphics adapter, ( ATI graphics pro
turbo), 1 panasonic 3.5" floppy drive, 1 conner 1.08 Gb IDE, 16 Mb RAM
from a DEC supplier and that is it.

The noname_milo disk I'm trying came from gatekeeper (BLADE 3) and looks like :

LINLOAD EXE 4096 11-03-95 4:09p
MILO 531584 11-12-95 2:29a
MILO_TGA 423264 11-12-95 2:29a
MILO_VGA 419600 11-12-95 2:30a
4 File(s) 78336 bytes free

Suggestions ?
Please help.
