Gotta think that Alpha-Linux doesn't have shared libs yet !

Is there any work going on for this ?

Alan.

Subject: Slow compiles question

I just upgraded to 1.3.54 and gcc 2.7.1 (with patches). It seems to me
that some compiles of even small files in the kernel are taking a very
long time. Of course, I haven't got timings from 1.3.52, so it is
subjective. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

It could be that I'm just low on memory (only 16 MB) and running X does
hog some. I've even turned on synchronous SCSI and my main drive agreed
to a 10 MB/sec sync rate, with an actual sequential read rate of 4 MB/sec,
up from about 2.5 MB/sec.
