It sounds very much like a termination problem. That, or as you suggest,
a broken SCSI controller on the MB.
Are you sure you have exactly two terminators, and that they are at the
ends of the cable? Are you sure none of your SCSI drives are terminated
except the one at the end(s) of the cable?
If your NoName is at one end of the cable, it should have its termination
enabled. If the NoName is in the middle of the cable, its termination should
be disabled.
You probably already knew that, but I'm just making sure. Even people who
understand SCSI termination still sometimes make mistakes.
(Now if only I could find out how to disable the termination on my Multia...)
