SVGALib/Utils on Jensen

Hi (Alpha-)folks!

First I must apologize myself for letting all Jensen fans wait for the patched
version of SVGALib 1.2.10, but I want to do some optimization before
distributing it. Yesterday I nearly finished all possible fine-tuning and I
promise (!) to upload SVGALib 1.2.10 to azstarnet this week (so be patient...).
At the moment I only tested it with libc 0.35.3. I think that this was the
first libc with (correct) Jensen I/O swizzeling.
Note, that I will upload my SVGALib 1.2.10 with the following (patched)
software:

povray 2.2 (with very fast sqrt-routine from Linus),
mpeg_play (I patched the X-version to work with SVGALib with gray
scaling only, but this is the very first version),
zgv 2.7 (views JPEG/GIF/BMP/TGA/etc.).

At this point I will give some benchmarks of my patched mpeg_player (I assume
the MPEG-movies are well known to you:

Startrek (launching Enterprise starship) 26.8 Frames/sec.
M.Jackson (Black or White music video) 14.6 Frames/sec.
Red's Nightmare 12.3 Frames/sec.

Note, that these benchmarks are done on a 150MHz Jensen (21064 with 512K
2nd-level cache, 32MB main memory) altogether. I remember some benchmarks of
mpeg-players quite a while ago in this mailing-list. Perhaps someone can
repost it because I have thrown it away...
By the way, I still work on porting X11 to Jensen type hardware...

Bye,
Stephan
