I had similar problems when I tried to assemble my axp noname board for the
first time.
In my case the simm-modules were the wrong wones. I had to 16MB Simm modules
without parity, when I exchanged them for another two having parity
everything worked
fine in first attempt, but without parity the board did just nothing except
heating up
the processor. Perhaps this is your problem, and your SIMM-Modules do not
generate
any parity or they just emulate it. Hope my hint fixes your problems.
