Portmapper failure

Hi

It's me again. Since I had used my alpha as aNFS-client I got each
time when I boot the system an error messages like this three times:

mount clntudp-create: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Unable to send

Could this be a side effect of the missing active UNIX domain
sockets? Any suggestions are welcome.
