does anybody have one of the following packages up and running on
Linux-AXP (maybe compiled and statically linked under OSF/1)?
scilab-2.1.1:
problem: general compiling problems, mostly caused by
incompatible OSF/1 definitions, I suppose
octave-1.1.1:
problem: no c++ include files and libraries under Linux-Alpha
A problem concerning both packages is a missing f2c or g77 (compiling
fails due to 64-bit-pointer vs. 32-bit-int-problems); my workaround was
to execute f2c on an Intel box using rsh.
Both packages are told to run under OSF/1.
