VGA error.

I just installed 16 Mb on my JENSEN and got SRM/ARC.

During power-on test of the VGA (Compaq/Qvision) card I get
under Devstat heading: ?? ff 0020 (instead of OK)

I don't have any doc, so anyone any idea what this error means ?
