My guess that this is more likely due to sysklogd-1.2. I'd suggest
you try sysklogd-1.3. I'm not sure if there is an RPM already. If
not, you can get the Alpha-specific patch from
ftp.azstarnet.com:/pub/linux/axp/misc. Please let me know if this
fixes the problem.
