Sorry, I only meant low end in a relitive sense :-) The lowest performance
MP AXP based machine I know of is an AlphaStation 2100, and as you know
that is a really hot machine.
I assume that Digitals thinking was that its easier to make fast uniprocessor
machines than it would be to try to get the same cost/speed ratio from
a multiprocessor machine.
