We have here a DecServer 1000 4/200, and I'm pushing for installing linux on
it. Well, first, is it supported? I couldn't find out what kind of
motherboard is in there by browsing the digital and redhat web.
If it is, then read the rest, if not, oh well...
Linux won't be the only OS on that machine. Its purpose is testing only and
we are planning to have OSF/1 (or whatever they call it today) that we have
there now, NT, and linux, and hopefully there is a way to have them all.
So, I guess I don't want milo, but aboot (from the web pages). So, now I
got sources for aboot-0.31. Where do I compile them? Linux/i86, OSF/Alpha?
Or do I first install linux and then aboot and meanwhile boot from a floppy?
I don't want to mess up what's installed right now, I just have an empty
partition on DecServer that I'll be using, so any input would be great.
Any other info as far as my particular setup would be nice, too.
Thanks,
Kenzo
