I bypassed this problem with "chmod 0 /p/gnu/bin/as", and
thus getting /usr/bin/as to be the only one to use.. But
it is nevertheless a bit troubling experience..
The binary used there is NOT from Alpha-Linux patched sources,
but still I wonder, if this could not be trouble for it too ?
(GCC 2.7.2, the ~/src/linux/include -directory contains
*.h files from Intel platform, but it should not matter..
Linux sources are at ~/src/linux/linux/, of course..)
(I am using my i486 Linux to mount AXP machine SCSI disk, write
necessary bits there, move disk back to AXP, ... I must get
those d*n floppy mystics solved..)
