I can say that I get this also at Avanti (Alpha-XL) machine
running 1.3.97 during the shutdown. It happens just seconds
before the machine does a reboot (due to oops, or othervice?)
but way after the syslogd et.al. are killed, and I think
after the root-disk is unmounted..

I could not make transcript of the console, though :-(
(Had I had a serial console hookup capability, I might have
been able to do it, but I had not, and machine is remote..)

PS: Lists via vger.rutgers.edu have a delay of about 115 000 seconds,
that is, about 31-32 hours at the moment. Anybody willing to punish
their computers to offer re-exploder of *.com for the VGER ?
