SCSI : DEC KZPAA-AA PCI SCSI card
Adaptec AHA-2940
ethernet: DE450-TA PCI ethernet card (10-base T)
Any idea, what that KZPAA-AA is? What about DE450 (I know of DE4x5)?
We will be able to exchange, whatever is not Linux-compatible, after
delivery (we order our machines with: "must be Linux-compatible" :-)).
However as the machine will come bare, with WindowsNT deinstalled,
(another one of our ordering conditions: "virus-free hardware"), we
will have to try "blind" (I have the RedHat 2.1 AXP CD) to get it to
run and not be able to do initial tests, whether there was any trans-
port damage, until after we got Linux running.
Any comments about "real-world" floating point performance of a 21164-300
relative to a 21064A-275, P6-200 or P5-90? I have benchmarks showing a
P6-200 under linux to be about 1.5 times faster than a 21064A-275 under
WindowsNT/DECFortran and 2 times faster than an IBM RS-6000/590 with xlf,
despite all being about equal on SPECfp92 (I don't care about integer
performance - mostly - unless that became a bottleneck - crucial loops
in our software are like 80-90% or so FP instructions).
