Linux-Alpha NuBee needs help

Hi, I am (actually I'm working on becoming) a Linux Alpha nubee...I have been
using Linux since 0.9x.something, so it's not a linux problem, just that I
guess I'm not familiar with the DEC machine, anyway...I have a DEC
AlphaStation 200 4/166. I just finished downloading BLADE 0.3 and made my
boot, milo, and root diskettes. Now, the trouble begins right from the start,
the installation text says:

3) Power up the system. The ARC console displays a boot menu. From the boot
menu, select "Set up the system.."

It then proceeds to go on and on about a boot menu, ...the trouble is that on
*my* Alpha, I have no such menu, I have a ">>>" prompt and a blinking cursor,
with a banner that says "X3.7-10895, built on Sep 15 1994 at 10:19:34". This
does not sound like the ARC console (boot menu) that the BLADE 0.3
installation instructions are talking about...can anyone tell me what's going
on here? -- Thanks!
