modules on alpha

I have a module that loads properly in Linux x86. Now when I build it
on Linux alpha and run it, I get the error:

insmod: module is 26562 bytes long (expected 18041)
insmod: forgot to specify -dc when linking ./sndshield?

I am porting the Open Sound System drivers for Linux alpha and
running Redhat 4.0 with insmod 0.2 BFD.

Any clues???
