Hello everyone,
Please pardon the generality of this inquiry but I haven't seen much going on
anyway. I am about to invest in one of the screaming new 21164-run alphas for a
personal workstation running 64bit redhat linux and I'm looking for words of
wisdom.
Any advice anyone has about any part of the process that I may not have
already learned through administering IRIX and linux servers and workstations
would be great. I'm also wondering about distributors and reliability. I'm
looking closely at SWT (www.swt.com/alpha_linux.html) and Aspen Systems
(www.aspsys.com).
How is the x86 linux emulation? experiences? I have heard a great many
things about alphas and linux. Can't wait to hear more...
