While attempting to compile gcc (with g77) I get a
whole slew of the following error messages:
/tmp/cca29349.s:13121: Error: Unknown pseudo-op: `.rdata'
/tmp/cca29349.s:15694: Error: Unknown pseudo-op: `.rdata'
make: *** [enquire.o] Error 1

Apparently the alpha config section requires that section
but somehow it's not recognized by gas--any hints?

Another problem I've experienced since upgrading from
alphabits is SLOW rlogin--again, any hints?
