I made that decision (to stay with 4.2) with my Intel boxes because of the
switch from libc 5.3 -> glibc 2.0, but I would've thought the impact on
Alpha from moving from glibc 1.99 -> glibc 2.0 would be less. Is that not
the case?
I'm really interested in this because I've been thinking about updating my
Alpha from RH 4.2 to RH 5.0 for awhile now.
