Sorry, my post was a probably a bit akward (particularly as I have
hardly contributed any work). I do not deny in any way the leading
role of RH for Alpha, and they certainly have done the hard part of
the JOB.

My post was only meant to correct your statement "they're using RH systems to
built their SW" which is no longer true (although it has been the case).

P.S.: About competition between distributions, I know everybody tries
as much as possible to report any changes in the upstream (GNU and
others) sources they use. Besides all diffs made by anybody (at least
RH and Debian) are public and welcome to be taken by other
distributions. So there is actually aooperation. I am sorry my
previous post was taken to be bad mouth, it was not meant to be.
