Sound config?

Forgot to mention this in my last mail. I tried to config the kernel
for sound, but the make failed at the very end. I used the Microsoft
Sound System driver in the kernel. Someone told me that the DEC multia
has a sound blaster compatible sound board in it, but I read on the web
somewhere that the board is Microsoft Sound System compatible. Can anyone
confirm what the correct driver I should be using for sound is? Thanks
