Parallel Port config

Hi,
I had posted a message earlier about trying to get my parallel
port ZIP drive working on my DEC multia system. At that time I didn't
have parallel port support built into the kernel and was getting this
message on bootup:
kernel: PPA: unable to initialise controller at 0x378, error 1
I rebuilt the kernel with parallel port support and I still get that
message. I also get this one now though:
kernel: NET3 PLIP version 2.2 gniibe@mri.co.jp
May 14 22:32:50 alpha kernel: plip0: Parallel port at 0x3bc, using
assigned IRQ 5.
Can anyone tell me what these 2 things mean? I have the zip drive working
fine on my intel linux box. Thanks for help.
