Installation question

I posted this question several days ago, but I think I didn't
elaborate enough, so let me pull for the different end.
We've acquired a DEC Alpha "500a" with NT on it; first think
I did was hitting the "format thoroughly " button and wacked
NT.
Now I attempted to install RH Linux 5.0 on it. I successfully
install MILO, then I tried to boot image (that's miata , is there
any problem with miata?) and I can see the vmlinux.gz being
unzipped and after that the only output I can see on my screen is
this :

Bootline is boot boot device=fd0 bootfile=vmlinux.gz
root=/dev/fd0 load_ramdisk=1
Bootstrap complete , kernel @ (and some hexadecimals)
turning on virtual addressing and jumping to the linux
kernel

And from here the output seems to be redirect to ??? serial port or
elsewhere, cause the screen is blank , however I am dead sure that
the installation continues. Any clues ?? I am dead from the neck up
on this.
The box has SCSI controller - QLogic ISP1020, 256 of RAM.
We'd like to try some heavy duty graphics on this and I'd hate
to reinstall NT . (BTW the graphic card is PowerStorm 4D 60T
and takes up two PCI slots , has its own fans and 32MB of
RAM and I think we could create some nice graphics with
this)
I'll be really grateful for some enlightenments on this.
Sincerely

George Klimes
