It looks like your mailer reformatted the patch and would make it next
to impossible to apply.

My own personal feeling is that this patch is a Bad Thing simply because
many of us (fairly or not) use the association of smaller pid == older
process, esp. when trying to find old daemons or irc clients to kill
them off.
