Hi,
Selecting a processor type of PPro/6x86MX since 2.3.40 gives a panic at boot
time for my 686MX from the following code:-
+/*
+ * If we configured ourselves for PGE, we'd better have it.
+ */
+#ifdef CONFIG_X86_PGE
+ if (!cpu_has_pge)
+ panic("Kernel compiled for PPro+, requires PGE feature!");
Contents of /proc/cpuinfo:-
processor : 0
vendor_id : CyrixInstead
cpu family : 6
model : 1
model name : 6x86MX 2x Core/Bus Clock
stepping : 3
cpu MHz : 133.124979
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
sep_bug : no
f00f_bug : no
coma_bug : yes
fpu : yes
fpu_exception : yes
cpuid level : 1
wp : yes
flags : fpu de tsc msr cx8 mtrr cmov mmx
bogomips : 132.71
Do later Cyrix MX chips have PGE or do we need a separate cpu selection
that doesn't set CONFIG_X86_PGE?
Cheers,
Mike
