Similiar problems with 2.3.47-pre6:

  Uncompressing image...
  PROMLIB: obio_ranges 5
  bootmem_init: scan sp_banks, init_bootmem(spfn[1fa], epfn[7f5e])
  free_bootmem: base[0] size[7f5e000]
  reserve_bootmem: base[0] size[1fbfeb]
  init_bootmem: return end_pfn[7f5e]
  Booting linux...
  mem_init: calling free_all_bootmem().

And then the system is dead...
