2.2.15pre10 on SPARC: Hangs after "Booting linux"

This is a SS4, stock Red Hat 6.1 + all relevant updates. Compiler used on
the kernel is egcs-20000221 (yes, I know). The system appears to hang just
before switching to the black background screen. Did not check network
functioning (my bad). No Stop-A, nothing. Now recompiling with
egcs-1.1.2-24. That takes a couple hours, so...

2.2.15pre9 compiled with egcs-20000214 seems to work fine (It's what I have
now). No real load, though: Just a personal workstation.
