Using:

LILO: <kernel_name> ide2=0xb400,0x0 ide3=0xc000,0x0

I have the following in the boot:

HPT366: onboard version of chipset, pin1=1 pin2=2
HPT366: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 98
HPT366: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
    ide0: BM-DMA at 0xb800-0xb807, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio
HPT366: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 99
HPT366: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
    ide1: BM-DMA at 0xc400-0xc407, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio
hda: ST328040A, ATA DISK drive
ide2: ports already in use, skipping probe
ide0de0: BM-DMA at 0xb800-0xb807, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio

Then Using:

LILO: <kernel_name> ide2=0xb400,0xb006 ide3=0xc000,0xbc06

HPT366: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 99
HPT366: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
    ide1: BM-DMA at 0xc400-0xc407, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio
hda: ST328040A, ATA DISK drive
ide2: ports already in use, skipping probe
ide0 at 0xb000-0xb007,0xb402 on irq 15
 at 0xb000-0xb007,0xb402 on irq 15

Also by entering cat /proc/pci i always have:

Unknown mass storage controller: Triones Technologies, Inc. HPT366 IDE
UltraDMA/66 (rev 1).
Medium devsel. IRQ 15. Master Capable. Latency=120. Min
Gnt=8.Max Lat=8.
      I/O at 0xb000 [0xb001].
      I/O at 0xb400 [0xb401].
      I/O at 0xb800 [0xb801].
  Bus 0, device 19, function 1:
Unknown mass storage controller: Triones Technologies, Inc. HPT366 IDE
UltraDMA/66 (rev 1).
Medium devsel. IRQ 15. Master Capable. Latency=120. Min
Gnt=8.Max Lat=8.
      I/O at 0xbc00 [0xbc01].
      I/O at 0xc000 [0xc001].
      I/O at 0xc400 [0xc401].

Additionaly i don't get the following line that you told me:

> Don't you get one more line with something like

>hde: ST328040A, 28040 MB w/xxxkB Cache, CHS=xxxxx/xxx/xx

Thank you for your enormous help,
