Compiling IDE stuff as modul

Hello,

I have tried to compile the whole IDE stuff as modules.

I have used the kernel patch, which adds DVD IOCTL implementation to
kernel version 2.2.14 (see info http://www.opendvd.org/linuxdvd.html).

After compilation and installation I tried to insert the IDE modules.

The module ide-mod.o works OK.
The insertion of the module ide-probe-mod.o FAILED, because the parameters
"current_capacity" and "get_info_ptr" are undefined.

This behaviour can be fixed by including the following 2 statements in
the file /usr/src/linux/drivers/block/ide.c (Version "Id: ide.c 6.20
1999/07/10")

EXPORT_SYMBOL(current_capacity);
EXPORT_SYMBOL(get_info_ptr);

at the proper place.

After this extension the modules compile well and can also be inserted without
error.

Hans
