Hi,

On bootup with the latest kernel (2.3.99pre2) I am getting a kernel panic..
I get the following error messages

request_module {block-major-3]: Root fs not mounted
VFS: Cannot open root device "306" or 03:06
Kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 03:06
Please append a correct "root=" boot option

I did not change the configuration of my system. I booted up fine with
2.3.51 and then had this problem after compiling 2.3.99pre2 about 45 min.
later.

I am running an Athlon 500 with 128Megs of Ram 2 harddrives (total of 21
Gigs) ,etc, etc.
