I just trying tu use the UltraDMA mode of my drivers. My motherboard it's a
SOYO 5EHM ( VP3 chipset, well really a ETEQ) lspci

00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C597 [Apollo VP3] (rev 04)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C598 [Apollo MVP3 AGP]
00:07.0 ISA bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586 ISA [Apollo VP] (rev 41)
00:07.1 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586 IDE [Apollo] (rev 06)
00:07.2 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586B USB (rev 02)
00:07.3 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C586B ACPI (rev 10)

Well, my hda it's a Wester Digital of 8.4G. At least the specs say it can do
UDMA. I actived it in the BIOS and I have the next error:
<SNIP>

The IDE interdce have also a CDROM attached. The kernel I have been tested
it's a 2.2.15pre9.

I'm a bit scared about the lenght of the IDE cables, because mine are near 75
cm long. Could be this the problem :?

Thanks in advance
