Hardware is IBM8500r 8*Xeons 16Gb RAM ServeRaid card + netgear GbE.

Both 2.3.99pre3 and pre4-3 hang on boot. Console messages (badly copied out)
are :
Stack at about d411bfbc
OK.
CPU3: Intel Pentium III (Katmai) stepping 03
Booting processor 4 eip 2000
Setting warm reset code and vector.
1.
2.
3.
Asserting INIT.
Deasserting INIT.
#startup loops:2
Sending STARTUP #1.
After apic_write.
Startup point 1.
waiting for send to finish...
+Sending STARTUP #2.
After apic_write.
Waiting for send to finish...

At which point it hangs.
