EXT2 problems with 2.3.99pre3 and 2.3.48

There seems to be something wrong with the ext2, this causes errors on
filesystem. Both machines run IDE drives. This sound serious to me,
also..

Box1 - 2.3.99pre3

I found a error from my log file

luxus kernel: EXT2-fs error (device ide0(3,65)): ext2_free_blocks: Freeing blocks not in datazone - block = 0, count = 0

I've once seen similiar problems under 2.3.48-series kernel, but back then
I did tought it was caused by malfunctioning hard drive rather than the
development kernel.

The filesystems seems to be fine on this machine since now..

Box2 - 2.3.48

Since the last error it has started trying to reach over the physical disk
space.

I was not able to retrieve the original EXT log message due the log file
seems to be affected by this problem, but if I remember correctly, the
error also was in form of "EXT2-fs errror ..."

hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error }
hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=816947,

hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=816947,

When I ran e2fsck it tried to read over the filesystem and was not able
to fix the problem, just gave me option to ignore the problem.

---------
[root@router /root]# /sbin/e2fsck -n /dev/hda1
e2fsck 1.14, 9-Jan-1999 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
Warning! /dev/hda1 is mounted.
/dev/hda1 was not cleanly unmounted, check forced.
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
Error reading block 393244 (Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted
in short read) while doing inode scan. Ignore error? no

Error while scanning inodes (98368): Can't read next inode
--------

Could someone help and tell me how to proceed and fix the problem?

Btw. I am using the netfilter at large also, the 2.3.48 box is basically
a router running NAT. On the 2.3.99pre3-box the error occured after
transfering six files about size of 10 megs from net...
